Gianna Gizzi

Associate Attorney

Gianna primarily represents clients who have been the victims of police brutality and officer misconduct. Within the first six months of her career as an attorney, Gianna briefed several motions and appeals in both state and federal courts—securing successful rulings for each. Notably, in December 2019, Gianna wrote the Reply Brief for a police shooting case on appeal before the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and assisted the lead attorney in preparing for oral arguments.

Before joining Kulis Law, Gianna worked at a nonprofit organization, Equip for Equality, during her first and second years of law school. Specifically, Gianna worked on the nonprofit’s civil rights team, where her passion for advocating on behalf of underrepresented communities grew. After that internship, Gianna clerked at the Cook County Public Defender’s Officer, where she utilized her 711 License to gain trial experience in the fast-paced environment of the Cook County Criminal courts at 26th and California. During her time clerking there, Gianna conducted a bench trial, examined witnesses, argued motions to suppress, and presented indigent clients in arraignments.

“Real change, enduring change, happens one step at a time.”

— Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg
